Jewelry Care

Fine jewelry is delicate and should be cared for accordingly. To extend the life of your jewelry and keep it in optimal condition, please follow the at-home care instructions:

How to clean your fine diamond and gemstone jewelry:

  • First soak the jewelry in a warm jewelry cleaner for 5-15 minutes. If you do not have a jewelry cleaner add a small amount of dish soap to warm water.

  • Next, use a soft toothbrush and gently scrub the gold and stones.

  •  Finally, rise off with warm water and lay flat to dry on a towel.

  • Do not clean pearls, opals or turquoise with any chemicals, abrasives, or solvents.

How to clean & take care of pearl jewelry:

  • To clean, simply wipe pearls off with a damp cloth after every use.

  • Do not soak pearls in water or any cleaning chemicals. Pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. Avoid direct contact with hairspray and perfume on pearls as it harms the pearls' nacre (luster) and will cause the pearls to dull over time

General Jewelry Care Tips:

  • Take off your jewelry before your daily rituals such as showering, lotion, perfume, etc.

  • Leave your jewelry at home before engaging in strenuous activities or swimming. This includes the gym!

  • Keep your jewelry away from chemicals such as chlorine, household cleaners, perfume, hair spray and lotion.

  • Before bedtime, lay your jewelry out flat.

  • For necklaces, clasp the necklace when removing it to assure the chain does not tangle or knot.

  • For opal jewelry, make sure to avoid drastic temperature swings while wearing as this could cause the gem to crack.

Please note this is not a complete list for all jewelry. When in doubt, have a professional clean and polish the fine jewelry piece.
